An artist who is contracted by privately or by companies to do different types of paintings, drawings, and graphics is known as freelance artist. Freelance artists are listed as independent contractors because they are not an employee of the company. Actually they are been hired for a project. In this world 60 % of artists are freelance artist, because to show things which artist had made cost lot of money. So instead of putting money to show things to others, an artist chooses to works with firm to get lot of money and those artists are called freelance artist.

Freelance artist are those artist which don’t do work for them selves but they do work for others. There are basically three types of freelance artists which are graphic designer, portraitist, and illustrator. Basically graphic designer puts website graphics, logos and fonts to the company. On the other hand an artist who is specially hired to do drawings and paintings are portraitist and illustrator is a special artist to make paintings and drawings for comics, magazines and books.

Multi media artists, cartoonist and sculptors are also considered as freelance artist. Most of artists are well trained but any artists which are self trained and haven’t got any training in the schools are not considered as an artist.

Basically freelance artist mostly works in their own studio and those studios are often rooms in their homes or rooms near to their homes. And some work on the sites just like a regular employee or worker of that company. But these artists who work on sites are not given any type of employee benefits because those artists are being hired for a project.

Freelance artist have to pay their own taxes and dues. But in today’s world a freelance artist earns lot of money. So it’s easy to make money as freelance artist.
